CARRY OUT: Carry out services for groceries seem nearly obsolete. Pictured are (from left) Father Gary Coulter and a volunteer from Catholic Social Services who gladly piled food and placed it in customer vehicles last Friday as part of the Lincoln Food Bank’s mobile food pantry visit to Ashland. Mike you are almost right about the money but it's not federal money they're worried about it is state money - the state requires a minimum number of hours - that number is 1032 for elementary students - but I do agree with you- why not just tell the truth and say "In order to meet state educational guidelines we'll have to adjust our calendar" - why the need to put a "spin" on everything I just don't get it

A great friend who always had the time to answer my endless questions about his experiences at Midway and Guadalcanal. With Bill's passing, the VMF-221 survivors at Midway have all flown their final patrol. A sad time indeed. God Bless you Bill....It was my honor and privilege to be your friend. LL
