The Molzers graduated from Plymouth High School and attended Fairbury Junior College. After one year of college, Charlotte taught rural school. Ken graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music. After years of teaching in rural Nebraska, Ken taught for 30 years at Papillion Junior High School, retiring as the director of bands while Charlotte became a substitute teacher and aide in the Papillion Public Schools and taught preschool at the Wee School for 19 years.
For 35 years, Ken has directed the First Lutheran Chancel Choir. In 1971, he initiated the Papillion Junior High Instrumental Music Clinic. He is the founder and director of the Papillion Area Concert Band and plays in a dance band.
Sumtur Amphitheatre was completed in 2007 under Ken’s 17-year leadership and had more than 15,000 attending performances in its first two years. He was involved with the establishment of the Sarpy Area Arts Council and is on the board of directors for the Papillion-La Vista Community Theatre. He serves as music education specialist for Dietze Music.
